Affiliates FAQ
How long does it take to set up a program? A few minutes: create the program, set your commission rate and payout threshold, and invite your first affiliates.
Do I need to write code? Only one line: the tracking script on your marketing site. Everything else is configured in the console.
Can I have multiple programs per app? One program per app. If you need different deals for different partners, use groups inside the program, or per-affiliate custom rules.
Attribution
Section titled “Attribution”How long is the attribution window? 30 days. A referral is credited when the merchant installs within 30 days of clicking the affiliate’s link.
How are referrals tracked? The tracking script stores the affiliate’s code from the link for 30 days; your app forwards it at install time and the attribution is recorded. First touch wins.
A referral wasn’t tracked. What now? Attribute the customer to the affiliate manually from the customer’s page, optionally backdating the effective date. See Managing your affiliate program.
Commissions and rules
Section titled “Commissions and rules”What happens to existing commissions when I change my rates? Nothing. Rule changes apply to future calculations only; commissions already earned are never recalculated.
Can different affiliates earn different rates? Yes. Put them in groups with their own rules, or set fully custom rules on an individual affiliate.
Managing affiliates
Section titled “Managing affiliates”Where do I find affiliates? Start with people who already know your app: agencies you work with, power users, complementary app developers, and your own community.
Do I have to approve every affiliate? Your choice per program. Require approval and review each application, or let anyone join instantly. You can change it later.
What happens when I remove an affiliate? They lose portal access and stop earning; their history stays for your records.
Payouts
Section titled “Payouts”When do affiliates get paid? When their unpaid balance passes your minimum payout threshold and a payout run happens: automatically on your schedule (weekly, biweekly, monthly) or manually whenever you choose.
Is there a minimum payout? Whatever you set. Balances below it roll over to the next run.
How does the money actually move? Outside Partner Console: PayPal to the affiliate’s payout email, bank transfer, or any method you agree on. Mark the payout paid and the affiliate’s portal reflects it.
Portal
Section titled “Portal”What do affiliates see in the portal? Their tracked link, referred customers, revenue and commissions earned, and payout history. Only their own data, only for programs they’re enrolled in.
